I downloaded WOS Portable from CH Software’s site last night.

Four hours later … I’d got Apache, php and MySql up-and-running on my memory stick.

This is sooo cool. I can hold a backup of my blog locally; check out upgrades before they go to the server … and I can take it away on my notepad.

… And I can use it to train or demonstrate where there isn’t a connection.

Now, this is just a development / testing / learning tool - I’m not going to be opening things up too much - but it’s going to make things so much easier.

Oh … and the MySql ODBC connector works with it as well.
