Taking a walk in my lunch hour, and found a load of butterflies in the lane next to the office.

So the next day I went back with my camera and macro lens. Not much at first, but as soon as the sun came out, so did they.

Here are the ones that worked …

These are the Speckled Wood (Pararge aegeria)

. .. and these are the Gatekeeper (Pyronia tithonus)
